Young Participants for 2012 London Olympics

In the development programme of 2012 London Olympics, several young people have participated in their journey to be the volunteer for the upcoming Games.
After 16 month training programme, volunteers will be given opportunities in local communities. Young leaders of 2012 London Olympics have travelled to East London to visit Dame Kelly Holmes.

By participating in huge range of activities, they are preparing for the interviews. Dame Kelly Holmes stated, “It was great to be at the London 2012 Young Leaders Programme milestone event. This group of young people have a fantastic opportunity to play a really important volunteer role in next year’s Olympic and Paralympic Games.”

Young leader from Aberdeen, Lauren Macleod said, “Coming together with all the other Young Leaders and meeting Dame Kelly Holmes has made me realise that this is a really special thing to be involved in.”

The London 2012 Young Leaders Programme is supported by BP and was designed accordingly. Thus, it would give an opportunity to the young people for making positive changes in their lives as well as communities.

The opportunities for volunteering are mainly opened in the four major hub locations of BP, which includes Canary Wharf, Sunbury-on-Thames, Hull and Aberdeen.
