2012 London Olympics Huge Risk for Dishonest Performers

For dishonest performers, 2012 London Olympics has given some tough regulations to follow. Doping expert said that new test will result in making London Olympics, the riskiest games ever played.

Head of doping lab for Olympics at King’s College in London, Professor David Cowan stated, “It's going to be the riskiest Games for cheats. Huge advancements have been made which could lead to an Olympic-wide crackdown on performance-enhancers.”
Cowan stated that new advancements resulted in detecting blooding doping. This is an illegal way of improving the performance, which includes blood transfusions. Cowen further stated that new tests will focus on the genetic components of red blood cells and detect the homologous blood doping.

During 70s, Blood doping started and attained popularity by US cycling team during the 1984 Olympics. Cowan said, “We've got a pretty good coverage of all the things that are prohibited. We want to get the message out there that science is detecting cheats.”
