Gebrselassie Admits Mistake of Considering Farah as Underdog -2012 London Olympics Latest News

Recently, Haile Gebrselassie admitted his mistake of writing off the prospects of Briton in the London 2012 Olympics, as he was quite unsure about the ability of Mo Farah’s capability of breaking east African’s challenge of medal for 2012 London Olympics Games.



For the upcoming Berlin Marathon, the Ethiopian long distance great accompanied with fellow marathon world record holder Paula Radcliffe. He is quite amazed with the achievement of Farah and expects him to beat in 5000 and 10,000 metres.

Gebrselassie stated, “Now it is very difficult for others to beat Mo Farah. It’s amazing. I was surprised that he was so strong this year but when I heard that his coach is Alberto Salazar, then I understood why this guy was so strong.”

He further added, “If there is a winner from outside Kenya and Ethiopia at the Olympics, it’s going to be Mo Farah. For the Ethiopians and Kenyans, it’s going to be very difficult to beat him. He has everything – the speed, the endurance and the tactics. Amazing.”

38 year old Gebrselassie is well aware about the long-distance running pain, as he has been suffering from knee injury and made announcement regarding his retirement.
