We are now doing this and I hope that this enables the hotels to continue with their planning for this summer as we all work together to stage a spectacular Games.”

2012 London Olympics Latest News

Recently, David Beckham made revelation that he refuse down the offers from Premier Club to stay with the Los Angeles Galaxy. He also clarified that retirement is not under consideration.

Last month, five year contract of former England captain with Major league Soccer ended. After this expiry, he has been attached with various clubs, such as former team Manchester United and their Primary League rivals Tottenham.
The 36 year old has been pursued by Paris St Germain and signed a brand new two year deal with Galaxy.

He stated, “I was offered the chance (to return to the Premier League), yes, but I'm happy here so that was a major factor in my decision - my family, my children, and playing for the Galaxy. That was what I was passionate about.”

While addressing Galaxy News conference, he said, “Retirement was never a part of my plans. It had been talked about by other people but it always is when you get to this stage in your career. I've not even started thinking about retirement yet. Last season was such a special season, not just because we were champions but the way we played and conducted ourselves on and off the field. I could feel a change within the players.”

Britain Rhythmic Gymnast Dream Ended for London Olympics

The rhythmic gymnastics group of Britain will not be participating in the 2012 London Olympics, as the British Gymnastics board refused their appeal. Parents and team members have made request to the sporting body to consider superior performance in the final round instead of qualifying round.

At the gymnastics test event, the team failed to make self-imposed qualifying mark with 0.273 in group all-round competition. The performance is reduced by a knot in ribbon. The Board of British Gymnastics stated that it refused to nominate team to British Olympic Association for selection.

This would be the first British sport, which has not made agreed qualifying marks. According to the statement, “In accordance with the selection process approved by the BOA (which was agreed and acknowledged by all competing group members), British Gymnastics wishes to confirm that in line with this policy it will not be nominating a rhythmic gymnastics group for inclusion into Team GB for the London 2012 Olympic Games.”

According to the statement made by the board, an individual rhythmic gymnast will be nominated. For those who are looking for more information and latest updates on 2012 London Olympics, just log on to www.londonolympicstickets.com!

None of this would have been possible without the knowledge and expertise of the engineering and construction team - from workforce to management. I am also delighted to see that other members of the ODA team have been recognised in the New Year's Honours List.”

Chief Executive of Olympic Delivery Authority, Dennis Hone said, “John has been the ultimate ambassador for the London 2012 project and has led the team with confidence and experience. He has been pivotal in highlighting the role of the British construction and engineering industries at every level, particularly as we move towards completion of the venues and infrastructure, on time and within budget.”

LOCOG Chair Seb Coe said, “John has led one of the biggest regeneration projects in the world and has delivered that project on time and within budget. The success of the project not only showcases British construction and engineering but also lays the platform for a successful Olympic and Paralympic Games. It's only right that John should be recognised for this achievement.”

He also said, “I'm also delighted that Charles Allen should be recognised for the tremendous work he has done as Chair of LOCOG's Nations and Regions Group. His work, both during the bid and since winning, in bringing about the UK-wide benefits of the Games delivers on our promise that the Games should be a catalyst for change throughout the UK.”

Sports Minister Expecting Major Betting Scandal in 2012 London Olympics

According to the minister for sport, Hugh Robertson, fixing a contest will be more offensive as compare to doping. He has warned huge security preparations to counter threats of bribing athletes as well as players in 2012 London Olympics Games.

Robertson said, “You cannot underestimate the threat this poses because the moment that spectators start to feel that what they are seeing in front of them is not a true contest, that is when spectators stop turning up and the whole thing falls to pieces.”

While addressing The Sunday Times, minister said that he believes in game fixing and has posed biggest threat to the reputation of London Olympics Games. Robertson said, “At some stage over the next two or three years, we will have some other sort of betting scandal in some sport. I just hope it is not at the Olympics.”

In the 2012 London Olympics Games, a devoted intelligence unit will be functional to find out the betting patterns. Athletes will be warned regarding the possible fixers.
