According to a survey conducted by BBC Global Poll, success in the upcoming London Olympics Games is related to the national pride. There is huge lift from the Olympic achievements in most of the developing and middle income countries.
91% of Kenyans are connecting the success in the Olympics to their national pride. International Olympic Committee or IOC said, “pleased the Olympic dream continues to excite people.”
According to a spokesman, “Whether as hosts of the Olympic Games or thanks to the sporting exploits of their athletes, the Games have shown time and again their capacity to unite nations.”
The poll has been conducted over 21,061 people, which comprises of 86% of Filipinos, 84% of Turks and 83% of Indonesians who said that their national pride affects ‘a little’ or ‘some’. On the other hand, 51% France and 58% Spain links their national pride with the country.
