LOCOG, London 2012 Organising Committee today made significant announcements regarding the official Security Services Provider for the upcoming 2012 London Olympics Games. G4S Secure Solutions have been appointed as the security services provider as well as the 23rd domestic tier three sponsor.
Last year, G4S has celebrated its 75th birthday with 50,000 people in UK working in it. It is considered as the biggest security firms across the world. This company is known for providing security at major sporting events, such as Wimbledon, Ryder Cup and Grand Prix racing at Silverstone.
Since 2008, this company has also provided security at Olympic site. Approximately 10,000 powerful security workforce will be trained and managed by G4S and will be well accompanied with Police and local authorities.
These Games will be safe and secure for both the spectators and competitors. During the games, security personal will mark their presence at both the competition as well as non-competition venues. Paul Deighton, CEO LOCOG said, “This deal represents where we are with our plans for the Games – we’re now looking at operational delivery. G4S will help us ensure that the security provisions in place are robust and of the highest professionalism and we welcome them to the London 2012 family.”
