The three times stage winner Chris Boardman stated that Bradley Wiggins has all the qualities to be the winner of 2012 Tour de France. While addressing BBC Sport, Boardman said, “I think this will be his best ever chance to win it. Physically and mentally he's in great shape and has the team support. There is more time-trialling in the Tour than there has been in the past, so this could be Bradley's year.”
On Sunday, Wiggins won the Paris-Nice title, as the first British winner of the race after Tom Simpson in the year 1967. The Team Sky rider underwent final day of eight stage race, which was a 9.6km time trial on Col d’Eze mountain.
Broadmam said, “There are three very big races in France, the Tour de France, the Dauphine and the Paris-Nice and to become the first Briton in 45 years to win this is a phenomenal achievement. He would have kept his cool and made sure that when he crossed the line he couldn't have done anything else. Experience is what helped him see it through.”
During the Tour De France in the year 2009, Wiggins came fourth. For more information and latest updates on 2012 London Olympics, just log on to www.londonolympicstickets.com!
