Official name of 2012 Summer Olympic Games is Games of XXX Olympiad and will be held in London, United Kingdom. The glorious event will commence from 27th July to 12th August 2012. London will be the host of modern Olympic Games for the third time. It has earlier hosted the event in the year 1908 and 1948.
During 117th IOC Session held in Singapore, London has been selected as the host city on 6th July, 2005 in Singapore. After undergoing four voting rounds, London has defeated Moscow, New York City, Madrid and Paris.
