Games of XXX Olympiad is the official name of 2012 Summer Olympic Games which will be held in London, United Kingdom. The glorious event will commence from 27th July to 12th August 2012. In the history of modern Olympic Games, London will be the first city to host the games for third time. London has hosted games earlier in the year 1908 and 1948.
On 6th July 2005, London had been elected as the host city. During the 117th IOC Session held in Singapore, London has been announced as the host city after defeating Moscow, New York, Madrid and Paris. The beautiful city has gone through four voting rounds and won to be the host of this magnificent event.
Sebastian Coe, former Olympic Champion was the head of this successful bidding. London has gone through lots of redevelopment for the upcoming games. With upcoming 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, a huge mix of brand new venues has come into existence. All of them will comprise of existing and historic facilities.
