At the National Portrait Gallery of London, you can enjoy the countdown event of 2012 London Olympics festival. The show features the last work of late Lucian Freud for the first time. This is the most ambitious exhibition of all the work of this artist.
From 9th February to 27th May, visitors will get an opportunity to view some of the most beautiful portraits of Lucian Freud.
Catch the unfinished painting, Portrait of the Hound 2011 in the exhibition. The artist was working on it before his death. The London 2012 Festival Director, Ruth Mackenzie stated, “Lucian Freud inspires the world with his insightful, extraordinary portraits, and the National Portrait Gallery has given us a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see his work. This exhibition is a countdown event to the London 2012 Festival. It provides a great taste of what’s to come during the twelve-week nationwide celebration that begins on 21 June.”
