GB Men and Women Reach Pursuit Finals

At the London Track World Cup, the team pursuit squads of Great Britain have reached the gold medal races. For Friday’s women’s final in three minutes 21.370 seconds, Laura Trott, Wendy Houvenaghel and Joanna Rowsell get qualified. The second fastest behind Canada.

In the Sunday’s men’s final clocking three minutes 58.466 seconds, Ed Clancy, Steven Burke, Peter Kennaugh and Geraint Thomas advanced in Australia.

Clancy stated, “We were really mindful to be in our own bubble. They've got a super-star team at the moment and I think they're [Australia] the favourites going into London.”

In order to ride in the qualifying, Britain were 13th of 18 teams. They need to wait to secure the final place with Belgium and New Zealand reaching bronze medal ride off.
