2012 London Olympics Venues to Host Young Film Makers Work

In London, young film makers from all across UK have been given awards and recognition at the prestigious Nation: Shorts awards ceremony.




Rick Edwards hosted the magnificent event which was presented by Panasonic. The evening was a complete celebration of country’s biggest and promising young film making talent.

In each of the ten categories, one young film maker have been given an opportunity to display their short film at one of the sporting venues of London Olympics. On the London 2012 Live sites, these films will be displayed. This will lead to the exhibition of their good work to millions of people across the world.

In the year June 2010, Film Nation: Shorts have been launched as a part of Cultural Olympiad. Thus, they have given 14-25 year old an opportunity all across UK to make films for the celebration of Olympics and Paralympics values.

This project has been delivered in collaboration with Panasonic and Creative England. The funding has been done from National Lottery through the Olympic Lottery Distributor. Rick Edwards said, “I got involved with Film Nation: Shorts as I am passionate about film and it seemed a no-brainer to support such fantastic project. All of the films were outstanding and I was overwhelmed with the talent in the room.”

Young people have been encouraged of making films with theme of ‘truce’ and submission of application form for 2012 competition is still open.
