Experience Magic of Paralympics with International Paralympic Day

London 2012 Organising Committee, LOCOG will be the host of International Paralympic Day 2011, where some of the popular athletes from UK and all over the world will be in London.




On 8 September 2011, the glorious event will be played in Trafalgar Square. Paralympic lovers will experience the first hand excitement of Paralympic Games to be held in next year.

The major attractions of 2012 London Olympics are the superb performance of Paralympic Gold medallist and BT Ambassador Oscar Pistorious.

Demonstrations of huge range of sports will be also done, such as Wheelchair Basketball and Wheel Chair Rugby, whereas Paralympic GB stars, such as Ellie Simmonds and Sascha Kindred will be the part of magnificent celebrations.

During International Paralympic Day, International Paralympic Committee will send an invitation to athletes and National Paralympic Committees. All of them will be invited to be the part of upcoming 2012 London Olympics.


For those who want to catch live action and thrill of 2012 London Paralympics, can book tickets as the application will be open from 9 to 26 September 2011. Two million tickets will be on sale, whereas one million have already registered online.


Chair of LOCOG, Seb Coe said, “We've got a fantastic line-up of Paralympic activity due to take place in early September and hosting International Paralympic Day in Trafalgar Square is a great way to kick things off. It will be an exciting day and a great way for the UK public to find out about each of the 20 sports at the Paralympic Games and to get a chance to meet some of the world’s top Paralympic athletes. I would urge everyone to get involved and register their interest in Paralympic tickets before they go on sale from 9 September.”
