Olympic Committee of US Aims for Medal Count

At the London Olympics Games, the U.S. Olympic Committee wants to win medal count. A specifc goal won’t be named to avoid any kind of unrealistic expectations. The USOC’s chief of sport performance, Alan Ashby stated, “We’re going into this to be the best-prepared team we possibly can be, with the idea that we want to go and win the medal count. That’s our objective. What that number is, I just honestly could not tell you, because it’s kind of a moving target.” While addressing the pre-Olympic media summit of USOC, Ashby stated that he expect Russia and China to give tough challenge to US. Since the year 1992, US is the winner of overall medal count in Summer Olympics. Larry Probst, the USOC Chairman stated that organisation is quite close to resolve a long running revenue sharing dispute with International Olympic Committee. He stated, “The discussions are constructive and positive. We’re getting closer and I think we’ll conclude those negotiations in the not-too-distant futureThe discussions are constructive and positive.
