2012 London Olympics Young Games Maker programme

Recently, London 2012 Organising committee games, LOCOG has made announcements regarding the details of Young Games Maker programme. With this programme, approximately 2000 young volunteers from all over the globe will help in the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games.

A team of 250 young people in the age group of 16-18 will participate in the adult Game Makers. Thus, approximately 70,000 dedicated volunteers will stage 2012 London Olympics.



With the national governing body of respective sport, the recruitment process of Young Games Makers as ‘specialist roles’, which includes ball boys and girls will done. The recruitment process begins from 25th July 2011.

HR Director of LOCOG, Jean Tomlin said, “The Young Games Maker programme is incredibly exciting as it has allowed us to identify a dedicated offering of roles which will allow us to harness young people’s enthusiasm for London 2012 and guarantee 16-18 year olds will have the chance to play their part in the greatest sporting event on earth.”
