Jodie Williams Won the Prestigious title at Aviva Indoor UK Championships

Last summer, 17-year-old Hertfordshire schoolgirl, Jodie Williams won the 100 meters gold medal in world junior championship. She also won two world youth crowns earlier and her first senior title of 60 m at Aviva Indoor UK Championships.

Williams performed her lifetime best of 7.24 sec and her previous best was 7.28 sec. This was the fastest record made by a 17 year old European Woman. Williams also stated, “I’m feeling brilliant.” She also added, “It was amazing. I couldn’t ask for more in my first senior race, especially with such a strong field. I definitely think I can do something at the Europeans.”

Second placed, Bernice Wilson will accompany Williams. Williams also said, “I was nervous last night but then I thought there is no pressure or expectation on me. I had nothing to lose.”
