London Olympics Village Completed

London Olympics Games is approaching fast! Olympic Delivery Authority, the Olympic and Paralympic Village site will be handed over to LOCOG, London 2012 Organising Committee by ODA, Olympic Delivery Authority.

In order to welcome all the athletes and officials from all across the world, lots of work needed to be done for the new apartments and Village site.

On June 2008, ODA started working on Village and around 2818 new apartments have been done. In 11 residential plots, these apartments have been constructed featuring spacious courtyards, gardens and balconies.

These projects have provided jobs to around 16,500 people. John Armitt, the ODA Chairman stated, “The Olympic and Paralympic Village has been built by companies from every part of the UK, working together to ensure it was completed on time and overcoming the challenges posed by the credit crunch and economic downturn.”

He further added, “We will be finishing the landscaping as winter turns into spring, and then returning after the Games to complete the transformation to create new homes for Londoners.”
