For the glorious opening ceremony of 2012 London Olympics Games, leading British electronic music pioneers have been given the charge of directing music.
The announcement mainly comprises of senior creative of team which will result in the direction of London 2012 ceremonies. Rocking Underworld duo Rick Smith and Karl Hyde will be working along with the Oscar winning British film-maker and producer Danny Boyle, Artistic Director of Olympic Games Opening ceremony.
On 27th July, the three hour ceremony will be held, the duo will be responsible for all the music. Karl Hyde stated, “We want to leave people with a musical memory of the show rather than a purely visual one. It's a great honour to be asked to do this and one we’re taking very seriously – it’s certainly not something we'll get the chance to do again.”
LOCOG has effectively appointed leading British creatives to direct London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Ceremonies. It also includes Artistic Directors, such as Boyle, Kim Gavin, Jenny Sealey MBE and Bradley Hemmings.
