2012 London Olympics Latest News

In Manchester, Rebecca Adlington won 400m freestyle at British Championships. In the month of July, it qualified for the double Olympic gold medallist for World Championships. She also defeated Jazmin Carlin who gets qualified in Welsh record for Silver along with World Open water champion Keri-Anne Payne third.

For the 200m and 800m events held in Shanghai, Adlington will try to qualify.
During the 400m freestyle, her winning time was approximately 0.38 seconds faster than her gold medal in Beijing. 22-year-old Adlington said, “I am so pleased to come away with that time and to get back to what I did in Beijing, especially in a textile suit. I can't ask for anything more.”

Robbie Renwick of Scotland won the freestyle competition of men in 3:51.90. Adlington has diverted her focus to 200m and 800m freestyle. She also said, “For me the 800 has been really difficult over the past two years as I've got older and dealing with everything. I am hoping to have really good solid races here and just try and do my best.”
