130 torchbearers will carry the
Olympic flame, as it will travel around 77.24 miles before reaching at Meridian
Park, Cleerthorpes. Lucy Brunt is the first torchbearer , 13 from
Sheffield and will begin with the flame
from Don Valley Stadium. For those who want to catch live action and thrill of

For her bravery, courage and
determination to deal with her Down’s syndrome, Lucy has been nominated. She has
also done some outstanding works with the disability sport project called Within
Reach.
At the Magna Science and
Adventure Centre, poet and story teller Debjani Chatterjee will carry the
flame. She has done some great work with schools, community centres, libraries
specifically in Sheffield Chlildren’s Hospital.

92 year old Jack Andrew will be the last Torchbearer from Wakefield.
For the inspirational passion for sport, World War II veteran, Jack had been
nominated. He also coached local football, cricket teams as well as playing
golf although his both the knees have been replaced.
Relay will cover in the following
communities: Sheffield, Rotherham, Dalton, Thrybergh, Conisbrough, Warmsworth,
Doncaster, Armthorpe, Dunsville, Hatfield, Scunthorpe, Brigg, Wrawby,
Immingham, Grimsby and Cleethorpes.
