For the preparation of spectacular London Olympics event, prostitutes have been cleared from streets, which also include lots of brothels. The five Olympic boroughs of London having large number of brothels have been shut down, as claimed by the charity group.
An anti-poverty charity of London, Toynbee Hall stated that large number of prostitutes have been arrested in the Olympic borough of Tower Hamlets.
In the five Olympic boroughs which comprises of Newham, Tower Hamlets, Greenwich, Hackney and Waltham Forest, 80 brothels have been shut down.
Andrew Boff, a London Assembly member and spokesman for Conservative group on Olympics stated, “This increased activity has happened disproportionately in the Olympic boroughs.”
Boff stated that he is supportive of police actions, as local inhabitants complained about some anti-social behavior. The Times further said that a team had been set up in the year 2010 for vice-related crime.
