Giant Olympic Rings of 2012 London Olympics Unveiled

On the entrance to Channel Tunnel in France, giant set of Olympic Rings have been launched today. In Northern France, these rings have been positioned at the entrance of Tunnel in Coquelles. This is one of the most popular symbols of world, as enjoyed by millions of fans who will be traveling on Eurostar trains to St Pancras International.

The Rings measures 9.4 wide and 4.6m high and built in Lille. They have been transported in segments to Channel Tunnel entrance positioned close to Calais. Eurotunnel has financed the manufacturing and placement of Rings. They have worked closely with French National Olympic Committee.

Chair Seb Coe of London 2012 Organising Committee stated, “The Olympic Rings are an iconic symbol, inspiring athletes and uniting people around the world. To visitors travelling from Europe they will excite and inspire them about the Olympic Games taking place in London, and demonstrate that we are ready to welcome the world in 2012.”
