London Olympics to Mark Armitice Day

In order to honour all those who died in two World Wars, the staff members of 2012 London Olympics have joined people from all across UK to mark the Armistice Day. During the early days, on 11th November, staff working on Olympic Park used to observe two minutes silence at 11 am. It was marked as the anniversary of First World War in the year 1918.

The morning has been coordinated by the contractors to enable the group of workers to participate at the construction sites as well as office locations all across the Olympic Park to start and end by alarms, whistles and horns.

Various ceremonies will be held all over the Park, which includes one at Eton Manor, venue for the London 2012 Wheelchair Tennis venue. Logistics and security staff are gathered close to Close Stadium to honour all the martyrs of the country.

At the headquarters of London 2012, two minutes silence has been observed at Canary Scarf.
