2012 London Olympics Opening Ceremony Shorter

Organisers of London 2012 Olympics have assured that opening ceremony will be speedier as compare to other games. This would result participation of athletes for limited time and they will leave early.

Denis Oswald, IOC co-ordination commission chairman said, “We insisted the ceremony would not finish after midnight so that the athletes can go back to the Olympic Village quickly.” During the end of three day inspection visit, he said, “They can even leave the opening ceremony before the end if they wish to do so, so that as few athletes as possible will be prevented from participating in the opening ceremony, which is always a fantastic experience.”

The athletics team will be holding camp across the world, which includes various sports, such as rowing, cycling, basketball, volleyball, gymnastics and handball.
Movie Director, Danny Boyle will be the director of 2012 London Olympics opening ceremony. Paul Deighton, the chief executive of London 2012 organising committee stated that proximity to the stadium would let more athletes participate.

He said, “The Athletes Village is extremely close to the Olympic Stadium. The issues about getting to and from it work very much in our favour.”
