Royal Artillery Barracks positioned at Woolwich is the temporary London 2012 venue will host a few events, such as Shooting, Paralympic Shooting and Paralympic Archery competitions. This competition will be held all over three indoor ranges and three open air ranges.
In the month of December, construction to be completed for the upcoming international shooting test events. All the three indoor ranges have been structurally completed with usage of 1200 tonnes of steel and clad in plywood.
Rented enclosures can be reused after the games and clad in 18000sqm of pvc membrane. It gives the structure a unique appearance. John Armitt, ODA Chairman stated, “The Shooting Venue will be one of the ODA’s last sporting arenas to complete and the progress made to date is impressive given the scale of the ranges and enclosures. The innovative design contrasts excellently to the historic setting of the Royal Artillery Barracks that spectators will see as they enter the venue.”
