Rory Undecided About 2016 London Olympics Team

22 year old, Rory McIlroy has taken decision that he will not declare the name of the team, he will be representing in Olympics.

Two years back, he stated that if he would be able to qualify for golf’s return to the games played in Rio de Janeiro in the year 2016 then he would be playing for Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

All the Northern Irish citizens can go for Ireland and US Open champions, as he said, “I still don't know. Basically, if I am going to be very honest, which I usually am, whatever I say is going to upset someone.”

Mcllroy stated, “As the Olympic Games come closer I think the excitement will build for it and people will get into it more and I think it's great for the game of golf that it's now become an Olympic sport. 'It will spread the game all over the world and make it recognised in different countries, which can only be good. 'So I may as well just say I don't know and wait until four or five years' time whenever I have to make a decision.”

In case, he attains top 15 position at cut off point, Mcllroy would get guaranteed position in 60-strong field. He stated, “It would be a huge honour to represent your country. It would be a great achievement to win a gold medal.”
