In order to watch the live action and thrill from Wimbledon, people from all over the UK will come together at London 2012 Live Sites. The annual tennis championships will enter the final weekend. Network of Live sites is running under the partnership between London 2012 Organising Committee of Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.
All the sports fans will be given an opportunity to enjoy live BBC coverage for both the men’s and women’s singles finals. You can enjoy the big screens in Belfast, Bradford, Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff, Coventry, Derby, Dover, Edinburgh, Leicester, Manchester, Middlesbrough, Norwich, Plymouth, Portsmouth, Swansea, Swindon, Waltham Forest and Woolwich.
To make things more entertaining, some spectators have enjoyed free interactive tennis activities along with strawberries and cream. From 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, LTA, The Lawn Tennis Association will also offer some mini coaching sessions at Plymouth Live site on Saturday and Sunday.
London 2012 Chair, Sebastian Coe said, “This weekend’s festival of tennis will give the public just a taste of how the London 2012 Live Sites will come alive during the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The sites will be a destination for people to enjoy the magical moments of the Games with their friends, family and local community. The sites are not just about watching great sport though, they will provide a great opportunity for people to have a go at a sport they might not have considered trying, possibly opening the way to a new interest and a more active lifestyle.”
In association with London 2012 partners BT and Lloyds TSB, Live Sites Network has been operated. It has been supported by CISCO and funding from National Lottery via Olympic Lottery Distributor.
