Demanding 2012 London Olympics Equestrian Test Event

As the London 2012 Olympics is approaching fast, enthusiasm for this stunning event is growing rapidly. The contestants of 2012 London Equestrian test event have declared the new terrain as a demanding test. In the Greenwich Park, riders were enthused as well as intimidated due to the prospect of four-star track extension. William Fox-Pitt stated that he has enjoyed BMX biking kind of experience! While going to the final day of showjumping, Piggy French of Britain stated, “It’s spectacular, but will be very intense. The terrain is testing both physically and mentally.”

Former European champion, Pippa Funnell was relaxed that her Olympics opponent has redesigned for a big horse. She also said, “It was quite nerve-racking. If it was Primmore’s Pride [her Athens 2004 ride] I would be dreading it, because he is so strong.”

In order to maximize backdrop of Canary Wharf, two feature jumps have been positioned on hill brows. Fox Pitt, “You need a proper equine athlete. You need a horse that changes gear effortlessly and that will turn when you ask.”

Veteran of Six Olympics, New Zealand’s Andrew Nicolson stated, “It’s not my ideal terrain for a championship but I think it’s going to produce a very exciting competition. Riders will be on the edge.”




Sue Benson has been appointed as the course designer have generated lots of feelings. But, competitors are expressing lots of appreciation for her work.
Benson stated, “Having been a rider, I hear what they are saying. The terrain keeps coming at you. It’s in your face. It’s what I’ve had to deal with.”
