Lord Coe, London 2012 Chairman needs to defend the ticketing process for Olympic Games against the considerably increasing criticism of Summer Olympics ticketing process. Approximately one million applicants have received nothing during the first-round ballot.
Chief Executive of London organizing committee, Paul Dighton and Coe have toured all the TV and radio studios to reassure public regarding the impartial allocation of 2012 London Olympics Tickets. While addressing BBC, Coe said, “Those who failed in the first round will have every opportunity to bid in the next round for hundreds of thousands of tickets and those tickets are at all price points.” He further said, “We mustn't run away with the idea that somehow those people who have bid huge sums of money have suddenly got loads and loads of tickets, they almost certainly haven't.”
Organisers believe that ticket allocation process was fair and impartial. While addressing Talksport, Deighton said, “We had 1.8m people putting in orders for about 22m tickets and we've got 6m to allocate. Some people are lucky and some are unlucky.”
